Its origin dates back to the Vendel Era, worn during the Viking Age (approx. 875 AD). This Norseman Viking helmet has the design known as a spectacles helmet, a mask that covers the eyes and nose forming a protective mask. Normally made of riveted iron, this design is made of high-quality dark brown leather, which makes the Viking helmet lighter and easier to wear, and hand-riveted. This Viking helmet fits most sizes. It does not have a lining so it can be customized with the chosen accessory. Used by Viking warriors between the 8th and 11th centuries, the Viking helmet has captured the imagination of historians and enthusiasts alike. Despite modern representations that often show them with horns, the reality is that the authentic Viking helmet was more functional and without extravagant adornments.

The design of a Viking helmet was primarily pragmatic, focused on protection and durability, and was designed to protect the warrior's head and face during combat. Some designs included a mask that covered the nose and eyes, providing additional defense against direct blows.

The manufacture of these helmets required great craftsmanship. Viking smiths used advanced techniques to forge and assemble the helmets, ensuring they were robust enough to withstand the impacts of enemy weapons. The process of creating a Viking helmet involved multiple stages, from the selection and treatment of the metal to the forging and final assembly, each of which demanded precision and skill.

The use of the Viking helmet was not limited to protection in battle; it also had symbolic significance. Wearing a well-made Viking helmet was a sign of status and power within Viking society. Warriors who could afford high-quality helmets were often those who had achieved great feats in combat or held a prominent position in their community. Today, Viking helmets continue to be objects of interest and study. They are exhibited in museums around the world and are recreated by modern artisans for collectors and history enthusiasts. Our leather Vendel Viking helmet not only represents the technical skill of the Vikings but also their warrior spirit and their rich and complex culture.

In addition to its historical importance, the Viking helmet has influenced popular culture, appearing in films, television series, and literature. Authentic replica of a 1st-century Roman helmet based on a find in Augsburg, Germany. The Imperial helmet type was a type of helmet worn by Roman legionaries. Before the Empire, Roman republican soldiers wore their own equipment, which was inherited from father to son. When the professional imperial army emerged, the soldier never discarded his equipment. Once the improved Imperial helmet appeared, it replaced the old Coolus, largely superseded by the Montefortino helmet. This constituted the final evolutionary stage of the legionary helmet (galea). Our Roman helmet is handcrafted from 18 gauge steel and brass and features the typical hemispherical bowl with an angled neck guard, as well as hinged cheek pieces to protect the face. It has an inner lining for comfort and can be adjusted with a strap. This helmet is perfect for any Roman reenactment. Replica of a historic Roman helmet. Features hinged cheek plates and brass fittings. It has an inner lining and chin strap for a perfect fit and security. Ideal for recreating the look of a Roman soldier.
