In the 14th century, the fingers were separated, up until the mid-16th century, to allow for firing the pistol.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn many 15th-century and early 16th-century tournament armors, the left hand had a gauntlet with separated fingers, and the right, for the lance, was protected by a mitten.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCertificate of Quality and Origin.
