The falcata is a type of bladed weapon, a steel sword originating in Iberia, and therefore related to the native Iberian populations prior to the Roman conquest. The Iberian falcata was widely used among the Iberian peoples, or the Celtiberians bordering on the first, being the "antennae" sword most common in the most Celtic area of the Peninsula.

The quality of the iron used for the construction of Hispanic weapons was praised by Roman chroniclers, who were surprised by its cutting capacity and flexibility, one of the most valued and sought-after characteristics in its manufacture.

As a curious note that reflects the effectiveness of these weapons is the fact that, after the first battles in the Iberian Peninsula, the order was given to the Roman troops to reinforce the edges of their shields with iron, possibly to counteract the cutting power. of falcatas, much superior to that of straight swords and sabers.

Our bronze Iberian falcata is made in Toledo and has a Certificate of Quality and Origin.
