Handcrafted in a small village nestled in the Longquan Mountains in China's Zhejiang province, where the tradition of handmade sword making began over 2000 years ago.
Each part of this sword is crafted by expert smiths using centuries-old methods. The blade is made with the "pattern welded" system with a Rockwell hardness in the range of 40-45 HRC and around 35 HRC at the guard. The simulated hamon is masterfully applied by an artisan. Each blade is sharpened and must be able to cleanly cut a sheet of paper before leaving the factory.
The tsuba and pommel are decorated with Japanese water dragons, ancient symbols of good fortune and wealth. The tsuba, pommel, and fuchi-kashira (the collar next to the tsuba) are made of brass and have an antique finish. The handle is made of genuine ray skin wrapped with cord.
The wooden scabbard has a matte black finish with a gold sand pattern.
