Excalibur is the name of the magical and mysterious sword of King Arthur, who drew the sword from the stone as announced by the wizard Merlin.
Arthur was anointed with Holy Oil and, in the presence of all the barons and common people, solemnly swore to be a loyal king to his subjects and to defend truth and justice all the days of his life.
Legend and history have been intertwined for centuries and appear intimately linked: The legendary King Arthur, The Knights of the Round Table, and the magical sword Excalibur.
