Napoleon's Dress Sword, a unique, discontinued piece, manufactured in Toledo by the prestigious Marto factory.
The embossed hilt is made of cast bronze with an 18k gold plating.
The hilt's reliefs are classical in style but with French Empire-style ornamentation.
The lower part of the crossguard shows the head of a horse, a symbol of nobility. In the center of the cross is a crowned eagle, symbol of the French Empire, with open wings, holding a scepter similar to Zeus's lightning bolt in its talons. The ends of the crossguard are topped with two Corinthian-style capitals with acanthus leaves and lion heads, another symbol of power.
The junction of the crossguard and the hilt features another relief in the shape of a laurel wreath, a symbol of ancient Greece, with which victors were crowned. This is followed by an image of the goddess Athena, depicted with a helmet, spear, and shield, a symbol of war and triumph.
The blade is forged from stainless steel and is topped in the upper half with an enameled blue area, on which engravings of crossed cannons are depicted, perhaps because Napoleon was an artillery officer.
