The best known medieval armor, made of steel or iron plates, joined together with hooks, nuts, latches and nails fastened to the warrior with straps and buckles, began to be used in Europe, by both infantry and cavalry, in the 14th century and reached its full perfection at the end of the 15th century, transforming in the mid-16th century into a ceremonial garment for the warrior, adorned and embellished with the refinements of sculptural art and metal industries. It notably declined in the 17th century as firearms improved, and from the 18th century onwards, it has only been used as an unparalleled ornament in castles, palaces, museums, and any place that wishes to incorporate a beautiful historical memento into its rooms.

One of the world's richest and most extensive collections of armor is preserved in the Royal Armory of Madrid, containing pieces mainly from the 16th century, the era of Charles I, from which Marto draws inspiration, reproducing them in different sizes or scales. The materials used are very similar to the originals: artisan-molded iron and steel, brocades imitating fabrics of the era, and wooden bases, giving the metal an "antique patina" finish that protects it from external oxidation.

Excellent Replica of Medieval Armor from the Exclusive "Collection of Historical Armors" by MARTO.
