WILLIAM WALLACE stands out in Scottish history as a national hero, outlawed by the English for killing one of their own. He did not accept the treaty of submission to England signed in 1297 by the Scottish nobles. Wallace captured several English strongholds and in September 1297 inflicted a severe defeat on English troops, being elected regent.

In 1298, King Edward I invaded Scotland, defeating Wallace's troops, who was forced to hide in France. However, he would later return to his native Scotland, where he was captured, tried for treason, and executed.

“They may take our lives, but they'll never take our FREEDOM!”

In the year of Our Lord 1314, Scottish patriots, starving and outnumbered, attacked the fields of Bannockburn.

They fought like warrior poets, they fought like Scots. And they won their freedom forever.
