Joinville Sword

The Sire De Joinville was a French knight known for his bravery and devotion to his King. During the 7th Crusade, the Sire De Joinville was attacked by a Saracen after having already lost his lance. De Joinville avoided the first attack, tucked his sword under his arm as you would a lance, charged and slew the Saracen. His valorous action inspired our choice of his name for this beautiful sword. They were very popular in France in the early 15th century.

The whole style of this blade is quite lovely, with elegant, simple lines that emphasize its deadliness.

The sword has marvelous balance. The handle is polished hardwood with 2 brass ferrules.

·         Overall length: 38" approx.
